Should I provide more information supporting those who believe crops should not be modified?
Do I make it clear why this issue is such a controversy?
If the person reading this (I don't know how widespread GM crops are) had no knowledge of GMOs, would they understand why some people see the crops as a threat?

First of all, you should explain the dangers of gmos earlier in your paper and you should also put your thesis earlier in your paper. You should also give more examples of groups of people who are against gmos, such as people who shop at organic food stores. The paragraph about your aunt seems out of place and would probably be better used in the policy paper where you are supposed to input your own ideas on the subject. Also see if there are groups of farmers who believe that crops should be grown organically and compare them to farmers who use gmos.
